Richard Head is an accomplished management consultant, trainer, training manager, and coach. His areas of expertise include: coaching; leadership development; presentation and facilitation skills; supervision; change and transition management; voiceover for instructional media and for radio/tv commercials; and, instructional design and delivery for the classroom and online.
Richard has consulted and conducted training sessions in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, England, and Thailand. His training and consulting have been delivered to companies as diverse as the Defense Information Systems Agency (Dept. of Defense), U.S. Air Force Airman Leadership School, Department of the Treasury, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Social Security Administration, General Dynamics, Boeing, Sprint, and Intertek. He developed the courses and facilitated a five-year Leadership Development curriculum with DISA, and he developed the courses and currently facilitates a multi-year leadership development and executive coaching program with the Federal Aviation Administration.
As Director of Training Delivery for H&R Block in Kansas City, Richard directed a major redesign and deployment of a nation-wide, classroom-based tax training program, and he spearheaded H&R Block’s use of online tax training.
Richard recruited and trained subject matter experts and consultants as Director of Training for the American Management Association’s Padgett-Thompson Division. His specialty areas included Leadership, Negotiation, Communication, and Staff Development. With a talent for simplifying technical topics, he then coached subject matter experts in business operations areas such as OSHA Compliance, Finance and Accounting, Lean Manufacturing, Desktop Software, and Warehousing and Inventory Control. During his 16 years at AMA he also directed the Program Development and Online Education groups. Richard helped establish training and consulting practices for AMA strategic partners in England, Thailand, and Argentina, and he then recruited and trained business consultants in those countries.
An part of his communications expertise, Richard has performed voiceovers for numerous television and radio commercials, instructional videos, and online courses. Clients include Jiffy Lube International, Intertek, American Management Association, H&R Block, ARMA International, and National Seminars Group.
A former social worker specializing in adult education and development, Richard has an extensive background working for not-for-profit organizations where he has served in Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director roles. He continues his human service activities as a volunteer facilitator of therapy-based group discussions at the Lansing Correctional Facility in Lansing, KS. At LCF he also conducts job-readiness courses for men who are incarcerated, and serves as a mentor to men who are preparing for, or are on, parole.
